Banh & Mee – Leeds – Review
One day, a work colleague and I started to crave Vietnamese food and a good Bánh Mì. We usually go to Pho’s in Trinity Kitchen but decided to check out Banh & Mee which is situated in the recently refurbished Leeds Market.
Good thing about being in a pair, you can order a variety of dishes and share. We tried the Chicken Pho, Pork Banh Mi and some crispy spring rolls. While overall the food as a whole was okay, it was a very nice treat for lunch. Lets start with the Pho, the broth could do with a bit more flavour, there was enough coriander and vegetables, but lacked that intensity. The pork in the Banh Mi was marinated nicely and the overall balance of the Vietnamese Sandwich was nice. As for the spring rolls, these were a make do since they did not have any of the summer rolls in stock.
It would be a good place to try, nice and easy for a lunch time thing. The food comes out at a decent speed, so the queues aren’t that long. I would definitely go again and try a few other items on their menu for sure. Make sure you take a friend with you, that way you are able to share and try a variety of their dishes.
